Based on our experience from designing and implementing big data and analytics solutions for companies across multiple industries, these projects require a fundamentally different approach than other types of IT initiatives. The focus must be on the information and the knowledge and actionable insights to be harnessed from continually exploiting the data in new ways. And rather than viewing information as a resource that resides in databases—which works well for designing and implementing conventional IT systems—it sees information as something that people themselves make valuable.

We believe big data analytics solutions must deliver tangible business value – increasing revenues, lowering costs, improving service delivery, and/or empowering the businesses’ predictive capabilities. Unlike other IT projects, the focus must be on the data and how to harness that data to deliver valuable insights to the business.
